Description
A friend visiting us over winter ’24 in the Sonoran Desert made me laugh as she judged the iconic Saguaro Cacti looming, Dr. Seuss-like, over the landscape:
“That one is A+. Excellent branches, postcard-perfect. Good job. That one over there – eh. It’s subpar; needs some work. Kinda lopsided. Try again, bud.”
Thing is, I’ve thought the same thing about Saguaro. They’re diverse, quirky, and amazing. This up-close painting helped me connect with and share the intricacies of color and texture inherent to this stunning and strange as hell desert plant. I also love how the greens contrast with the brighter-than-blue sky.
12”x12”, painted canvas edges for a 3D effect, eyelets/wire fixtures installed and ready to hang.
