Fall is different everywhere. In Alaska, it takes place low to the ground in a very quick burst of reds and yellow, chased out by snow. Where I grew up in New England, it’s the classic leaf peep-ah postcard view. I’m finding that in many parts of the desert mountain west, fall concentrates on a blazing yellow fury of aspen and cottonwood looking tall against deep blue sky. It’s different from what I’ve known. And it’s spectacular. I’m happy to share the view with this piece.
