Description
Sunrise happens in late in December. There's no two ways about it. Especially over the holidays, when I have time off from work, I prioritize getting outside during daylight hours. In this case, I was outdoors during daybreak hours, and lucked out at seeing these blazing colors in the sky. The snapshot became the basis for the painting, and a good reminder to go outside even when it's cold, dark, and difficult. Light plays tricks in surprising and dazzling ways in the winter.
