Desert sunsets. Are they for real?! Painting this taught me to be assertive with color: yes that blue is that blue, orange that bold, and yellow that bright. All of these colors are somehow, miraculously, layered together into one cohesive, immediately recognizable whole. Note the saguaro outlines as the only hint (aside from the boldness of the sunset) to where you are.
