Description
This painting is based on a winning photo entry selected as part of my January ’25 contest. The goal of the contest was to connect with awe, meaning, and purpose while providing 10 winning photo references I’d paint throughout the year. People entering the contest combed through good photos/memories, and then shared those with me to in turn connect with via painting, and share back with the world. We’re at that final step now! This painting features alpenglow on what is presumably an iconic Alaskan peak; the vantage point of just below the peak suggests this view was earned – and, if you know anything about alpenglow, fleeting. I loved painting it to extend and inhabit the moment, and hope you enjoy it too.
